Permanent marker goes straight on, no smudging.
Sticks like it means it, minus the chemicals.
Goes in the recycling with the box. No picking it off first.
Tape made the Japanese way
Kikusui Tape Co. have been making tape in Yao, Osaka since 1949. Kikraft 100 is their kraft paper tape, and it keeps things simple: paper, natural rubber adhesive and a release coat. No plastic layer hiding underneath.
The release coat earns its spot. The roll unwinds clean and stacked cartons stay stacked.
75% biomass. FSC certified paper. Big in Japan, now available at your packing bench.
Paper tape that's actually paper
Here's the dirty secret: most "paper" tape is wearing a plastic raincoat. Kikusui skipped it. Just kraft paper and natural rubber adhesive, with 75% biomass to back it up. Japan's Biomass Mark says so, not just us.
Tape FAQs
Yeah, baby! It's made from kraft paper with no nasty plastic coatings, so you can leave it on the box and chuck the lot in the recycling.
Nah, any standard tape gun or benchtop dispenser will do the job. It also tears by hand, for when the tape gun has mysteriously wandered off again.
Strong enough to keep your everyday parcels firmly shut, no Hercules required. Packing something seriously chunky? Our Water Tape is the heavy lifter.
Kikusui is grab-and-go: it sticks straight off the roll, perfect for everyday packing. Water Tape needs a dispenser and a splash of water, then fuses into the cardboard for a tamper-evident seal on the big stuff. Different jobs, we love them both equally (don't tell either of them).
You bet, it's one of its best qualities. Grab a permanent marker and write anything you like, such as "Thanks HeapsGood, you're all really sexy legends."
Kikusui (菊水) means "chrysanthemum water", which sounds like a luxury spa. Fitting, really, because your parcels are about to be pampered by 75+ years of Osaka tape-making expertise.
